Kenny Irwin dies at 30

Kenny Irwin died this morning during a terrible practice crash at New Hampshire. Irwins car came to rest only yards from where Adam Petty crashed only two months ago. It appears that his throttle may have hung entering the turn, he slammed the wall hard and rode it for a while until the car toppled over onto its roof. Irwin was unconcious when taken from the car and was later pronounced dead. Our thoughts go out to the Irwin fmaily and friends. It is very sad to see something like this happen once, let alone twice in the span of two months. Lets hope that this is the last for a long while.

Sorry I have not been around as much lately, I recently completed college, purchased a car (2000 Mustang GT, sooooo fun), and am in the process of taking some time off while looking for my apartment, buying furniture, all that stuff, etc. I am currently working on (with the little time that I have) the Review of NASCAR Heat and will hopefully be posting it later this week. In addition I was just notified of a new build of NASCAR Heat that will be available shortly that I will also review and post the improvements and such. Again I am sorry for the dry spell, but do not worry, things will start again soon. Talk to you all later, and Tom keep up the great work.

With the closing of The Pit Wagon, we lost our site of the month this month. There is an article posted about NASCAR heat with a few more screen shots. In the article it discusses the fact that the sim will be marketed to the masses with spectacular and somewhat forgiving AI, but will still include realism for the "two guys in Durham." I guess they haven't visited many sites like this to see the "real" audience, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be all crashes and no racing. There is one really cool screen shot of an airborne car. Official word from Papyrus comes as a shock to me. It seems that they will debut their followup to NASCAR Racing, errr I mean NASCAR 3 at the E3, aptly titled NASCAR 4. It looks like NASCAR Heat may be the best thing that could have heppened to Papyrus and their games, now that they have some competition they will have a reason to put out some high quality material and not just a beautified Indy 500 the simulation remake.... see the full story
