I haven't painted in a little while, and wanted to do
something different and not already done. As far as I can
tell, Richie never had a cup start, but he is in the Hall of
Fame, so I decided he deserved a tribute retro car! Richie
Evans certainly was the face of modified racing, especially in
the Northeast. He won an estimated 475 times in approximately
1,300 starts. On October 24, 1985, after having clinched the
1985 National Modified title (his 9th championship) the week
before, he was practicing for the Winn- Dixie 500 Modified
Feature at Martinsville Speedway when he crashed heavily in
turn 3. The 44-year-old perished in the accident. Credits:
