Hello! Here's a much, much better program then my Mainback Maker 1.0. You can make new backgrounds for your menu selection pages with Roguetoad.com's Mainback Maker 2.0. It's easy to use and it does all of the conversions for you. Load an image, choose your series logo, use some effects, and then save! The program saves it, creates a "mainback.stp" file, and even a compressed jpeg preview! Check it out and please let me know if you have any issues whatsoever! It was created in GameMaker 8.1 and I recommend running it as an administrator. (Tested platforms: Windows 7 32/64, Windows 8 32/64.)
