i found a program that converts this file, if ya'll want the link i will give it, or with TRL_Twinmill's permission, i will repost it in .wav format

800 if you right click and go to properties it says what type of file/ and pegasusenigma, the sound are in dat files, i tried even repacking the new dat file with my sounds and taht doesnt' work either, thanks for trying to help though i apreciate it.

I tried looking to see if I could figure out a solution to this problem. I went looking around to where the "audio sounds" were supposed to be and nothing. I looked around all my folders for an indicator of audio tracks and nothing. I went to the main folder and upon scrolling down, I found 3 files. All DAT files. Named NR2003ss001-003. Unless I'm wrong, (and I could be) are these the sound files used for "Start Your Engines"? If so, it would make sense that the files should be dat's and in the main folder. If I'm wrong, my mistake. Oh well.

ON MY COMPUTER, the unpacked files from the dat are wavs, btw TRL_Twinmill, how do you know yours are not wavs? U didn't even show file extensions

one of them is a wav, the others are .ogg files wich you can see clearly in this screenshot, i tried replacing the .wav, i made it exactly the same length and also as close to the same file size as possible. it still doesn't work. if anyone knows why please let me know. i am also posting this in forum.

i have just un-packed the sound.dat file where gsye.WAV is located. i have win xp so i ttells me what type of file it is. it IS A .WAV file

they ARE .ogg files when you unpack them... want me to post a screen shot to prove it? i know i shouldnt have to bc thats what they are. 1 - 12 ogg vorbis audio files. when i make the wave in Acid i click render and chose .wav same for the .ogg files, i chose render and ogg vorbis. it should work technically but its not. the wav files might be limited to a certain quality and i don't know what the quality setting for them is...

when u unpack the dat they are wav files, not ogg files

heres a suggestion: go into the program that you used to create the file, re-save it as a .wav file instead of just re-nameing it.

its soposed to be an ogg file thats what all the start your engine files are when you unpack the thing. they are ogg vorbis files. you shouldn't rename it.

its an ogg file, do those work in the game for the gsye files, cause i tried renaming to a wav file and it didn't work.
