i don't see whats wrong with toyota coming into nascar. CTS or whatever. I think it's interesting to see new things to come in nascar. and i will bet one day there will be toytas in nextel.

Ya know, if it wasn't for Gibbs switching to Chevy, Pontiac probably wouldn't have pulled out. I've always been a die-hard Pontiac fan, especially when Irvan drove for them (Even though he wasn't that good) and I'm sad to see them go. If I could get rid of any car ut on the circuit, I'd wipe out the Chevys. I hate all that advertising they do about winning everything and acting like they're the best just because of people named Earnhardt and Gordon. We all know who's REALLY won the most NASCAR races: Fords. And it'll be nice to see them get another Championship over Chevy this year.

Okay my turn . . . First of all, Toyota is not replacing Pontiac. Toyota is coming to the Craftsman Series, NOT NEXTEL. Toyota has not committed to introduce any of its cars as of yet. There is talk about the Camary beginning, if it happens, during the 2006-2007 season. Pontiac has never made a truck, so again no replacement. No one really stood up about Mercury or Lincoln when they left, or Plymouth (King Richard's preferred company). The tribute car is very nice and although Pontiac is pulling out, majority of Richard's wins came from Plymouth. Also, he raced Fords 1969 because he wanted to race a competitive car (Plymouth did not come out with the SuperBird yet). 1970 he returned to Plymouth, switched to Dodge in 1973, Olds in 1979, Chevy in 1980, Buick in 1981, and finally Pontiac in 1982 until his retirement. Even though Toyota is a riceburner, production for certain models are done in the US. Lastly, NASCAR is more than just NEXTEL, BUSCH, and CRAFTSMAN. It covers everybody from them to the grassroots backyard racers with the dirt tracks included!

You S***heads have you not heard anything the only reason their letting toyota come to NASCAR is because they are being made in one of the biggest car plants in america whick is located in Evansville,IN y0u morons. And get over it Gibbs is already at chevy and pontiac PLAINLY sucks they've won one race this year woohoo. Dodge isnt german its american too.

Toyota is not replacing Pontiac. Pontiac has no major teams and they're doing the right thing as a business and leaving. Besides, they run Chevy engines and have the same body as a Chevy. There's really no change at all. Toyota is coming into NAsCAR near the same time as Pontiac decided to leave. Toyota is AMERICAN. Besides, America is supposedly about freedom and equal opportunity. I'm getting really sick of racist comments about Toyota coming into NASCAR.

good point goodwrench. i dont see the problem...FIRST OFF SKIDZ FORD HAS MOST WINS IN MODERN ERA NOT ALL TIME!!!! CHEVY OWNS THAT TITLE IN NASCAR HISTORY. NOT THE CIRCLED PROBLEM. anyways toyota i dont see whats wrong woopdido...how many of u have a "riceburner" somewhere? besides ya'll are scared toyota will come in and dominate like it did in CART and the IRL. face it get over it its evolution. just dont cheer for em...back to my belief BOWTIES ALL THE WAY!!!

i dont get it really, whats wrong with another manufacture comming into NASCAR? The tundra is made in america, making it an american made car. U all wine to much about something that is stupid really. Its sad that pontiac is leaving, but hell the pontiac teams couldnt perform, 1 win and 1 pole is all they can show for thier effort. they might have only 6 teams but its not worth the $$ GM puts into them if they cant win races. Anyways im probly ganna get my head bit off over this so just wanna say nice car, good tribute to pontiac.

Sad to see pontiac leave and being replaced by a piece of $h!t riceburner. Doesn't the rule book say american made. Since when did a rustbucket toyota become american made. I don't care how many factories they got here they still not american.

I think we should start a petition for NASCAR to change it's name since it's changed everything else. Let's review the name: (National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing). Ok first, with Toyota and Dodge being foreign brands, yes Dodge is a piece of s**t german brand get over it, this would make it not very national, so the name should be changed to international. Second, when was the last time there was anything stock about a stock car, there is about two parts on this car if that, that are stock on the real monte carlo, taurus...etc. Let's just get rid of the stock car in the name. Ok some this should be the new name of NASCAR: IAAR - International Association of Auto Racing Doesn't have the same ring to it does it, but it simply is the truth about what the sport has become. I can't remember who said this, but it was in an article on nascar.com about kurt busch getting his credentials taken away, but they said that talent didn't matter and it was a privilige to race that required the proper nice attitude. This thinking also goes back to nascar getting pissed at tony stewart getting in trouble for skipping the press meeting. Personally, I don't go to races to see press meetings and see people be all hippy nice to everyone. I go to races to see talented racing. I think corporate NASCAR has basically become a people pleasing bunch of a**holes with no consideration for what the sport originally meant.

Im with MrGoodwrench, id rather see pontiac in nascar than this toyota japanese piece of crap. i make it a point that in every online or offline race im in, if theres a toyota in it, i smash the crap out of it because it shouldnt be on the track. GO AMERICAN MADE CARS!!!!!!!!!

guys, if you listened to Dave Despain the other night on Speed, this will more than likely NOT be the last a Pontiac is ever seen in NASCAR, the GTO is coming out soon and will be more than likely the mainstay for the Pontiac camp in NASCAR.

Now, don't take this the wrong way but, BOOHOO. Who cares if Pontiac leaves, and besides, if they lack the interest and effort it takes to have a consistantly competitive body then financially they are better off leaving. Like I said don't take wrong but, after being around racing for 40 years I've seen just about all the car makers come, but only a few have stayed. It was great Pontiac stayed like they did but time rolls on. It was too bad Olds left, and Buick, and Chrysler and Plymouth and Dodge and if I remember right, in the early days we even had Studibaker and Kaiser cars racing, but that was long ago, 99% here don't remember them days.

Pontiac Leaving is GREAT news! Why did GM need to have 2 cars running in Nascar to begin with? what makes them so special? NOTHING! thats right. FORD ALL THE WAY!!! Winninest Car maker in History. non of this recent bullcrap i hear on Chevy's commericals. IN ALL HISTORY FORD IS #1!!! What car make is gonan win the Championship this year? a Bowtie? Nope! a Goat? Nope! a car nobody drives anymore? (Pontiac) NOPE! Its fitting Pontiac's last race will be in an event Sponsored by Ford!

Sure is hard to see them go. Especially an American made car. Then to see a Foriegn such as the Toyota join more ranks of the NASCAR circuit. What is this world coming to. I am a fan of the GM Goodwrench car, so Pontiac's were never on my priority list but, to see them go is too bad.
